A modern surrealist work, Contemplation explores the layered nature of perception and reality. The composition centers on a woman seated on a museum bench, quietly absorbed in a large painting before her. That painting reveals a luminous purple glass orb, its surface alive with a vivid reflection of an art museum interior.

The illusion is deliberate and destabilizing: the reflected space appears so convincing that the viewer begins to question what is being seen. Is the orb reflecting the gallery around it—or something else entirely? The boundaries between observer, object, and environment begin to dissolve.

By nesting one reality inside another, Contemplation invites the viewer to consider how perception constructs experience. Multiple realities seem to coexist within the same frame, each dependent on where—and how—we choose to look.
